Updated on 13th September 2023: With regret, we must cancel this event due to a lack of entries.
We have decided to incorporate a ‘mini’ race into our Training Day on 30th September which will continue to go ahead. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we hope to run this event again next year.
The Wessex Schools’ Ski Championships is open to all skiers schooled in Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset counties.
The competition will consist of a slalom race of 2 runs down the same course followed by a dual knockout competition. The event is open to school teams made up of 3 or 4 racers and individual racers. The skiers can range from year 1 to 13 and entries will be taken up to a total of 250 racers. The morning will be dedicated to the Primary school skiers and the Secondary school skiers in the afternoon.
Entries will be accepted on a strictly first come, first served basis. Schools’ can enter multiple teams however all racers in a team must attend the same school and the school must ensure that all racers are competent to ski a slalom course. Individuals outside of the Wessex area may enter this competition, although will not be awarded any medals in the event of a podium or be visible on the results.
